cruising the greek islands

The Greek Islands was high on my bucket list of places to go. Having just got back from my cruise which was on the Celebrity Infinity roundtrip from Athens in August of 2024, I was certainly not disappointed. I flew into Athens a day before the cruise for many reasons. One, to make sure we were there in case of delays, 2nd, for jet lag and of course to see the Acropolis.  My wife had never seen it before and I was glad to see it again. The following day we got on the ship and went to Santorini, Mykonos, Kusadasi, Kavala and Thessaloniki. All fabulous stops. Kusadasi we went to Ephesus which was something I wanted to see for many years and was not disappointed. The food in Greece was great. The weather in the summer is very hot, especially in Athens. The day we got there it was 100.
Cruising the Greek Islands is the easiest and most comfortable way to do this. One visits the islands during the day and cruise at night. The food and entertainment is all included in your cruise fare unless you go to a specialty restaurant which we did. We went to Tuscan Grill which is an Italian restaurant with steak options. We also went to Sushi on 5 and enjoyed that very much. I highly recommend a trip like this if you are into ancient sights and history.
